Every day I usually receive a few emails in which several readers ask me what they need to learn to create a successful blog and be able to make a living with it.

It is not a question that is easy to answer in a simple email, and there are many things that must be taken into account to be a successful blogger

That’s why I wrote this post so that you also know how you can open your own blog on the Internet, and what steps you should take to avoid failing in the attempt and even win money with it.

Generally, people write blog with general information and the advice which is always the same. To create a successful blog we need to choose a design that is beautiful, write quality content and answer the questions asked by the visitors. It takes lots of efforts and time to become a successful writer. Here are some strategies that you take under consideration while writing a blog or article.

7 Things You Should Know To Create A Successful Blog

1. SEO, SEO, SEO

SEO positioning is something that you must learn before deciding what the theme of your blog will be. I have decided to put it in the first place because I think it is the MOST IMPORTANT thing that any blog owner should know.

But what is SEO? Basically it is a technique to understand how great search engines like Google or Yahoo make your web page appear among its results and that way you get visits to your blog.

The majority of visitors that your website receives will come from those search engines; so if you understand how to use SEO, you can get a lot of traffic that will later become your loyal readers.

2. Without this it is impossible to have a Blog

I assume that if you want to open a blog, you should know or learn to write. If you are not willing to do it, forget about this possibility.

Even if it seems ridiculous, it takes more than knowing how to put together a couple of words in the same sentence.

Writing is something that you can develop over time. Just think about how you wrote when you started learning with 3 or 4 years, and how you do it now. And the same can be said when you start blogging.

We all know how to write, but one thing is to do it from time to time for fun, and another is to write more than 1,000 words several times a week, or even daily. You must be prepared to make mistakes along the way.

And nothing happens to commit them, because in fact it is the most normal and that is how you will become a better writer: making mistakes.

Your first posts will probably take you a little more time to write them, but little by little you will improve and find your own voice when creating them. And the only way to get it is by writing every day. So get on it as soon as possible.

3. Good Content is Essential

Writing and creating content are two very different things. You can be an excellent writer, but that does not mean you are able to create good quality content for your blog.

The texts that you create need to attract your readers, but also to hook them so that they stay with the desire to read more, who want to leave a comment, and who wish to click on your other articles.

And again, do not worry: with time you will also improve on this.

For me, a post with good content should have these basic qualities:

  • Be built with good SEO (yes, again SEO!)
  • Create an attractive headline
  • Have an introduction that hooks to continue reading
  • Audiovisual elements such as images, videos, or audios
  • Links to other posts on your blog
  • But also links to articles from other blogs
  • And clear calls to action (leave a comment, click here to find out, etc.)

4. Know your Target Audience:

There is one thing that all successful blogs have in common: their owners handle them as if they were normal businesses (in fact a blog is an excellent venture to make a living).

Blogging is a business, so you should treat it as such.

This means that you should take time to investigate what topic you want to focus on, if there will be people interested in it, and avoid creating a blog just because something you like a lot.

Understanding your potential audience is extremely important because if you know who they are, what they like, what they are interested in, you can create content that appeals to them and hooks them.

5. A Free Blog is a Bad Idea.

If you really want to create a successful blog, I’m sorry to tell you that with a free one you will not get very far. It’s not a bad idea to open a blog on Blogger or another free platform to practice for a few days.

But if what you really want is to position your blog and generate profits with it, it is mandatory that you stay away from these sites.

You may find it too complicated to make a blog of your own, but in reality, as soon as you know a couple of things you will see that it is child’s play and that it is cheaper than you think.

In fact, you can have your own hosting and domain for only $ 4 per month. It is a ridiculous price for the income that you will generate with your blog.

The essential thing you need here are 3 things:

  1. A domain name (www.yourdomainname.com)
  2. hosting (the website where you will save your files)
  3. And WordPress (the platform with which you will manage your blog and write your articles)

6. Be Active on Social Media Profiles.

We are all familiar with social networks because we use them daily to share photos or talk with our friends.

But do you really know how to use them to attract more readers to your blog? Do you know what you should publish, how often, and what social network is best according to your topic?

If your answer to these questions is NO, calm: in the following articles you will discover how to handle them like a professional in a simple way.

7. Do not be Shy!

There is something very important to create a successful blog that grows: have contacts and meet other people.

Blogging, as an industry, is a large community made up of human beings. And not only is it built by readers, but also by bloggers.

And that’s why you should go out there and connect with other blog owners; but not only with those who write about the same thing as you, but with anyone, however different their theme is from yours.

Because it is important? Because in addition to learning from other people, you can also collaborate to promote your sites together.
